The ADLER Spa Resort SICILIA is a work of eco and sustainable art that thoughtfully includes and involves the surrounding, natural elements. Mediterranean cedar wood warms and softens interiors, the floor-to-ceiling windows – all sea-facing – create a sense of openness and freedom, and the walls and floors are cleverly made from locally sourced unbaked clay and effusive volcanic rock to help maintain and balance room temperature ensuring guests are cool in summer and warm in winter.
Taking care of guests’ physical and mental well-being is ADLER Spa comprising 13 treatment rooms. The therapies here are wide-ranging and customised, from thalasso treatments, pressotherapy (mechanic massage movements to reduce the appearance of cellulite) and lymphatic drainage to the unique Etna Ritual using volcanic powder to leave skin silky soft. Yoga classes with the teacher Elena de Martin
Both advanced and beginners are welcome to join classes.
The offer includes 7 yoga lessons: 2 sessions per day from Monday to Wednesday, and a last session on Thursday morning.
Elena De Martin comes acquaintance with Ashtanga Yoga by the end of the 90s. Since 2000 she has been travelling to India every year to deepen her experience at the source of the tradition, meeting great Masters like Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, his daughter Sarasvati and his grandson R. Sharath Jois. In order to broaden her knowledge of the yogic discipline, she studied Sanskrit, Yoga Philosophy, the Scriptures and their Chanting guided by M.A. Jayashree and M.A. Narasimhan. While studying Ashtanga, in 2001 she approached Vipassana Meditation, following the lead of Master S.N. Goenka. Elena has been teaching in Milan since 2001, holds seminars in Italy and abroad and has received one of the highest recognitions from the Sri K.Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, the Level 2 Authorisation for the teaching of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

Breathing techniques, mindfulness, Yoga OBM with particular emphasis on breathing and specific experiences related to breathing will be the practices carried out during this week.
There will be the possibility of having a particular experience in heated water to find out how it is possible to hold the breath for a long time and without any effort. This method is in fact also used in freediving training and on this occasion, it will be possible to experience its effects on the management of one’s body and mind through the fascinating and fun activity of static apnea.
